"STC" stands for Supplemental Type Certificate. This is the term for FAA approvals granted to a company or individual that authorizes a Major Alteration to a Type Certified airplane, engine, or propeller. An STC can be authorized for "one-only" or "multiple" aircraft. With permission from the STC holder, your A&P/IA may reference the STC as the approved data for the alteration. No other approvals are necessary, unless you deviate from the STC drawings.
